It is a shame when many people have bigger eyes than their stomachs, but this is an XXL restaurant. The food is perfectly okay, but it's all about the experience. The good thing is that you can also have the meat wrapped up, for example. In any case, I like to be there with my friends 1-2 a year.

It's been some time since I last ate there. However, my last visit there was great! The waiters were very polite and always had a casual saying on it. It didn't get boring. The portions, clearly for an XXL restaurant, outstanding. The taste is also totally great. Maybe next time I'll manage 1.5 kg of schnitzel (without fries). Price - performance: TOP. Gladly again.

Family, friends and acquaintances have been going to the forest spirit for many, many years. Top service, always friendly and the food always, really always good! There is no need to talk about the portions - great value for money! By the way, great with the kids in summer.

First of all, I like the Waldgeist as an event restaurant. Always friendly waitresses, albeit changing, but still courteous, on the ball and especially Toni always in a good mood at the table and the guest! You can sit outside here in summer, which was cozy this year despite Covid19 measures. The facilities inside and outside look very rustic and you feel a bit like you are in an old rustic alpine hut, where the focus is not on apré ski, but all the more good food in sensational portions. Now in winter I usually like to go to the forest spirit to eat game goulash, wild boar spare ribs or a mulled wine with delicious homemade cake, which the owner bakes himself. In general, you have to say that Christoph has the proverbial fingers inside and that his spare ribs are perfectly cooked all year round and the sauce is matched with a little cranberry jam in winter. I find it very tasty. Unfortunately, this year the visit is canceled due to the current restrictions and the associated closings. Nevertheless, you can take a highlight home with you this year. An (almost) finished goose with sauce, dumplings and red cabbage. This only has to be put in the oven for a short time at home and then you can feast with the whole family. Currently the price is € 60 and 4-5 people will be full. In this sense, our XXXL restaurant in the beautiful Taunus supports you.

If you want to step on the gas with the soccer team and want to eat in competition, this is the right place! TOP priced! What I really liked, here can be paid for via PayPal, unfortunately this option is far too rare in my opinion. For that, thumbs up 👍

If you are really hungry and like large portions, this is the place for you. If you can't make it, you can pack your food there and take it home with you. We liked it! A very helpful and friendly staff, great keep it up.

Everything an XXL store needs to have, large portions and great taste. You can take everything with you and nothing is wasted. Thumbs up!

Good food, as the name says most of it is XXXXL! The portions are logically very large so think twice, otherwise you can of course pack it up and take it with you. Price / performance fits! Reservation is an advantage! Otherwise you just have to wait a bit. Cool waitresses!

Unfortunately, I have to say that my schnitzel wasn't that great. Personally, I missed the seasoning and it was cut on all sides. When I asked why that is, I was told that the 250gr. Schnitzel to be halved. But a schnitzel where the edge has been cut off not only looks unsavory, it also gives me the impression that someone has had it on their plate before. (Even if it hopefully wasn't the case) That can be done better!

Mass instead of class Of course, the Waldgeist restaurant is worth a visit, where else is there so much to eat. Certainly you shouldn't expect a culinary delight, but it all tastes good. It is also important to mention that no EC card payment is possible! There is a star deduction for this.

Location great, beautiful on the edge of the forest. Don't eat my world, ate 1/4 pork with hunter cream yesterday. Salad pp was fresh but too strong taste of the sauce. Every restaurant has its preparation. The taste was okay but you could count the mushrooms. At the next table they served 1 kg of XXXL burgers. For me, go there for fun, but I often think less is MORE.

Badly good food, but a star deduction because the portions were just way too big. I went to the bathroom and puked up more than I ate. If I could give 6 stars I would still only give 4.

Quality is something else, it is produced on a mass scale. People who write that the food was good are only used to cans and finished products To serve staff friendly unfortunately very slowly and I'm still waiting for my majo. Talk about amazing portion sizes, delicious food and a super nice atmosphere. If all that sounds good you got to try this spot. Ordered the Hell beer I think thats correct. With the Madagaskar Schnittstelle and topped it all off with the cheesecake and chocolate.

Food highly recommended. It wasn't that great at the table where we were sitting. Could have been cleaned under the table. There were gambas and the like lying around. Otherwise satisfied.

Love this been, been coming here for 8 years. The portions are huge and well worth the money. Always end up taking food home no matter how many people or how hungry we are.

First of all, I have to say, it's definitely worth a visit just for the extraordinary portions. There is a lot of space both inside and outside, but for my taste it's not exactly cozy inside. The food is to be expected like in an XXL restaurant; Huge portions but rather average in taste. The waitresses are nice and friendly and the preparation of the dishes doesn't take long. Unfortunately, you can only pay in cash on site.

Very cool restaurant from drinks to food. Portions really huge and extremely tasty. I had schnitzel 250g with french fries and a liter of beer. The 250g was enough for me personally. Staff friendly and food was prepared quickly. We recommend. thank you

As a person who loves burgers I ordered the XXL hamburger, turned out to be a big mistake, it was by far the worst hamburger I have ever had! Wired taste for the meat, I'm not sure at all it's a pure meat and probably a lot of mixture inside which isn't meat! Beware!

Ordered the grill mix plate. Simply way too much (i do get this is the whole idea of the restaurant) - but was decent. Avoid the vine (yet again, I know its Germany after all). Shnitzels ordered by the rest of the group are simply terrifying huge. Be prepared.

I booked a table through the internet. I drove about 35 minutes with my family for the experience of the XXL. We are arrived there on time. Then first shock at the door: "you can only pay with cash". 19 years in this country I have seen this only in fast foods and döner shops. I never carry more than a few Euros with me. I could hardly believe it. Then I checked inside and the guy said "you can pay with paypal". We sat in a table and instead of relaxing with my family, I was thinking how to pay. By the way I have paypal but I'm using it for my online paypents, not payments in a restaurant. 10-15 Minutes passed and nobody case to take the order (so that I could also double check this paypal thing). The whole place was extremely noisy. I asked another service person about paypal. He said.."if your card is connected to paypal...".. I thought: "Sorry I had enough with this. I came to eat and have a good time with my family and not to think how to make payments via paypal". I took my family and left. I didn't have the chance to taste their food but if they want to make it so difficult and old-mode style to pay them, then it is their choice. I would rather go somewhere else, instead of starting to look around for a bank to withdaw money. 1 hour wasted time in driving.

For those who care about XXL sizes more than for quality or service.

If you want to eat like a pig, I recommend 5XL restaurants. Customers have to pay for plates. If you don't want to pay, you get a big burger, one of their signature dishes on the table and you eat on napkins. Dry food, not good. I do not recommend.
